We are excited to share with you our plans for kindergarten enrollment for the 2025-26 school year.
Kindergarten enrollment will open on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Children must be five years old on or before September 30, 2025, to be eligible for enrollment. Parents may locate the school at which their child will enroll by clicking on this link:

Kindergarten enrollment for the upcoming school year will include three steps. Please note the following:

Online Enrollment Form: Beginning on April 8, 2025, complete the 2025-26 Online Enrollment Form that will be available on our website. We recommend that families needing language support please contact the HCPS Welcome Center at 804-365-4618 or
[email protected].

Enrollment Appointment: After completing the Online Enrollment Form, you will receive an email advising you to contact your child’s zoned school to schedule an Enrollment Appointment. The purpose of the scheduled appointment is to provide all necessary documentation required, including, but not limited to, a photo ID, an original birth certificate, and proof of residency. We encourage rising kindergarten parents to schedule their Enrollment Appointment between April 14-25, 2025.

School Event: Each of our elementary schools will host a Kindergarten Screening and Welcome Event at a later date. These events will include students, and more information will be communicated to families and shared on our website.
